New Delhi [India], August 15 (ANI): Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that it reflects the government's resolve to build a developed and self-reliant India.
In a post on X, Shah said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address on the 78th Independence Day reflects the government's resolve to build a developed and self-reliant India. Throwing light on topics such as self-reliance through renewable energy, One Nation - One Election, UCC, expansion of medical education, industrial manufacturing and 'Design in India' and women empowerment through SHGs."
"Modi ji's speech reflects his commitment to take the country forward, inspired by the successes of the last 10 years. I urge all countrymen to listen to this address and take a pledge to build a strong India," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reiterated his commitment to work three times faster to achieve the goals of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and called on the countrymen to join in making a 24x7 commitment towards 2047.
While addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day, PM Modi emphasized making India the third-largest economy during his third term.
"This is India's golden era. 2047 is awaiting our Viksit Bharat. Defeating the obstacles and challenges, this commitment to move ahead with a new resolution...I had said earlier that in my third term, the country would become the third-largest economy, and I would work at three times the speed so that the dreams of the country are realised at the earliest. I'm not afraid of challenges because I live for my country and countrymen. So let's join in a 24x7 commitment for 2047 to fulfil the dreams of our ancestors," he said.
He highlighted the reforms undertaken by the central government in the past 10 years, saying that these have increased self-confidence in the youth and their desire to take giant leaps.
"We should not let this opportunity pass. We will then achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat by 2047," he added.
"From tourism to MSMEs to health--in every sector, there is a new, modern system. We have adopted best practices. Each sector needs new things, to use technology, and we must ensure these sectors get the support. Let's all come together with all our strength and achieve our goals," he said.
The Prime Minister also urged the nation to work towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, recalling that 40 crore Indians showed strength and courage to drive away the British decades ago. (ANI)
