New Delhi [India], Nov. 6 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first ever International Agro-biodiversity Congress, IAC in New Delhi today, which will be attended by 900 delegates from 60 countries. The event will initiate and encourage a dialogue among stakeholders, including farmers, to better understand everyone role in agro-biodiversity management and the conservation of genetic resources. The Congress will shed light on how conserving agro-biodiversity can lead to its sustainable use for food and nutritional security of ever-increasing world population. It will also address the threats imposed by climate change and ways to achieve sustainable agriculture production. India is one of the mega-diversity centres possessing unique crop and animal diversity. (ANI)
