PM Modi says no job crisis in India

New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hit back at the opposition for leveling false accusations about rising unemployment in the country and presented statistics which claimed enormous generation of employment opportunities in the four and half years of BJP tenure.
Replying to a debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha, he said, “In the organised sector, between September 2017 to November 2018, in about 15 months approximately 1 crore 80 lakh people have started getting their money deducted for provident fund. In all this, about 64 per cent people are of age less than 28 years. Most of the people in this age group are those who have got new jobs.”
“In March 2014, approximately 65 lakh people were registered in National Pension System, in October 2018 this number increased to 1 crore 20 lakh. So has it happened without jobs?” he said.
Outlining further statistics, the Prime Minister added, “In the last 4 years, 6.35 lakh new professionals have come up. Do you think if a doctor opens a clinic or a nursing home then he will employ only 1 person? Or does a CA only employ 1 person? They at least give employment to 2-3 or more people”.
Prime Minister also particularly emphasised on the transport sector and said, “In unorganised sector, in last 4 years about 36 lakh commercial vehicles, 1.5 crore passenger vehicle and 27 lakh new autos have been sold. Everyone who has purchased these vehicles wouldn’t have just parked it and have deployed someone to run and a mechanism must be in work for their service and maintenance. As per an estimate, about 1.25 crore people have got new opportunity to work in the transport sector.”
Talking about job generation in the hospitality sector, he added, “There has been a 50 per cent increment in the number of approved hotels. Are these hotels lying empty, haven’t they employed people. As per an estimate, there have been gea neration of 1.5 crore new job.”
PM Modi also stated that the first timer beneficiaries of Mudra loan are about 4.5 crore and they have started their own business.
He also talked about the Common Service Centre’s contribution in creating jobs and said, “During our government over 2 Lakh common service centre have been opened in rural areas. Haven’t they given jobs to people? In every such centre 3, to 5 young people are working to provide service.”
Connecting the dots between different infrastructural developments of the country and job creation he further added, “The highways are being constructed at rapid pace, airports are being constructed, the railway stations are being modernised, crores of houses are being constructed and all of it are generating employment.”
He also hailed the entrepreneurs of the nation and said that the youth is also taking the path of entrepreneurship with help of Start-up India, digital India and other initiatives.
Employment was developed.
The Prime Minister had also asserted that in India, unorganised sector provides 80 to 90 per cent of job whereas organised sector only provides 10 to 15 per cent jobs. (ANI)
