"PM Modi promised we would enter Lahore, bring ten heads; he should fulfil these promises": Udit Raj on Pahalgam attack

New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): Congress leader Udit Raj on Monday, while referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep his past promises about cross-border action, saying, "PM Modi promised we would enter Lahore, bring ten heads in return for one; he should fulfil these promises."
He questioned Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about what is stopping such action against Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking to ANI, Raj said, "PM Modi promised that we would enter Lahore and bring ten heads in return for one. PM Modi should fulfil these promises."
He also questioned Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's response to the incident, asking, "I want to ask Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is stopping you? You should go ahead, the Congress party and the entire opposition are standing with you."
The remarks come in the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed. The attack has drawn national outrage and renewed calls for decisive action against terrorism.
The government, in response, has reiterated its determination to deliver a strong blow to terrorism. It assured that those responsible for the attack, along with the masterminds behind it, would face severe consequences.
Following the attack, the Centre government has given the armed forces complete operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets, and timing of India's response.
The Central government convened an all-party meeting after the terror attack, and Opposition parties have expressed their full support for any action taken by the government against the perpetrators of the terror attack.
In the briefing to the Cabinet Committee on Security meeting held a day after the terror attack, the cross-border linkages of the terrorist attack were brought out. It was noted that this attack came in the wake of the successful holding of elections in Jammu and Kashmir and its steady progress towards economic growth and development.
The government has announced a series of measures, including putting the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance, to send a strong message to Pakistan for its support to cross-border terrorism. (ANI)
