Patna (Bihar) [India], May 19 (ANI): Amid the ongoing elections in the country, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh launched a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that, sidelining real issues, he only talks about Mandir-Masjid and Hindu-Muslim.
"PM Modi only talks about dividing issues, not the real ones. He only talks about Hindu-Muslim, Masjid-Mandir. We raise real issues like farmers, women empowerment, caste census, etc., but they do not speak on all of these things. He talks about defaming the Congress party," he said.
He further stated that after the four phases of elections, the BJP had no scope in South India and was reduced to half in North, West, and East India.
Hailing INDIA alliance, he said that now it is clear that the INDIA alliance will emerge victorious and a government will be formed with a clear majority.
Stating the misuse of central agencies, he said, "We believe that the way ED and the CBI have been misused has never been done before. Soren and Kejriwal got arrested. PM Modi said that Adani and Ambani went to the Congress office with black money. Why is there no ED action against such people then?"
Lashing out at the centre over Jammu and Kashmir, he demanded that J-K be given the status of statehood. There should be elections, adding to that, he said, "It has never happened in history that a state has been reduced to union territory. So many people have been killed in J-K."
He further slammed the BJP, saying that they want to get away with the reservation, which is why they are seeking over 400 seats in the general elections.
"UP CM Yogi before 9 years wrote an article stating the need to end the reservation. Also, the kind of language that has been used during the elections shows that they want to end reservations," said the Congress leader. (ANI)
