PM Modi meets service chiefs, review preparedness along LoC
New Delhi [India], Nov. 8 (ANI): Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to brief about the situation along the border and the preparedness of the armed forces to deal with ceasefire violations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC). India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present at the meeting. Sources in the Prime Minister's Office described it as a routine meeting. Ever since the Indian Army ventured two kilometers deep into Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir to neutralise terror launch pads, Pakistan has been targeting security outposts along the LoC. The army has so far has given befitting replies to the ceasefire violations, destroying several outposts and killing Pakistani troops. The strikes were seen as retaliation after Pakistani terrorists attacked an army base in Kashmir's Uri, killing 19 soldiers in September. In the weeks following the surgical strikes, there have been more that 60 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control and the International Border. (ANI)
