PM Modi is more talk, less action: NCP
New Delhi [India], Aug. 10 (ANI): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his statement of 'karenge aur kar ke rahenge' in the Lok Sabha, stating that he has been "good at talks but little at work," adding that he needs to work on his drawbacks. Speaking to ANI, NCP leader Majeed Memon said, "Prime Minister Modi who said 'karenge aur kar ke rahenge' can only speak and be little at work. There are so many issues that the country is facing and I would like to Modi ji ki what he has done so far other than talking. Be it him neither (Modi) nor the government has done anything in the past three years." Echoing similar views, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik stated that Modi ji should show what he wants to do for the country and when would he do it. "Every week, Prime Minister Modi gives a new slogan to the country. The Quit India Movement slogan 'Do or Die' was something that we cherished and tried to live up too but Modi has news plans for it. I think rather than talking, Modi ji should show what he wants to do for the country and when would he do it? Because, not a single commitment he has fullfiled in his three year term." Yesterday, Prime Minister Modi said in the Lok Sabha that while the clarion call in the 1942 Quit India Movement was 'karenge ya marenge' ( will do or die), today it is 'karenge aur kar ke rahenge' (We will do it). Speaking in the lower house of Parliament on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the movement, Modi said, "Today, we don't have Gandhi or the kind of leadership of that time. But 125 crore people of today's India have the belief that if we work together, we can realise the dreams of the freedom fighters". Hailing the 1942 movement, the Prime Minister Modi said it gave rise to new leadership and spurred participation from people of all walks of life. (ANI)
