Bhavnagar (Gujarat) [India], Apr 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the protector only for the Ambani and Adani of the country and wants to give preferential treatment to them, said Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
"The Prime Minister after snatching away jobs and money from the nation says that he is the Chowkidar. But since when farmers and jobless people have been needing guarding? He is the Chowkidar of Ambani and Adani's wealth and will take away your money and pass it on to them," said Rahul at an election rally here.
"The money for the NYAY scheme will come from the money recovered from Ambanis, Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya. It won't come from the pockets of the middle class. We have no intention of increasing income tax when we come to power," he said.
"The Congress party will prepare two budgets if it comes back to power in 2019. One national budget, and the second one for our farmers and ensure that they are not jailed for defaulting on loans. We will not cheat them," said Rahul.
Gujarat will see polling in the third phase of the Lok Sabha polls on April 23. The counting of the votes will be done on May 23. (ANI)
