PM Modi inaugurates integrated command and control centres for Smart Cities in various parts of Northeast

New Delhi [India], Mar 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated integrated command and control centres for Smart Cities in Gangtok, Namchi, Pasighat, Itanagar and Agartala via video conferencing.

New Delhi [India], Mar 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated integrated command and control centres for Smart Cities in Gangtok, Namchi, Pasighat, Itanagar and Agartala via video conferencing.
While interacting with Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling and others via video conference, the Prime Minister said: "The implementation of integrated command and control centres is gathering pace across India."
"The urban centres of the Northeast, with their pool of skilled human resource, have the potential to emerge as growth hubs for the entire region. The Smart City Mission enables cities to identify their potential and challenges," the Prime Minister said.
Pawan Kumar Chamling thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving two smart cities to Sikkim and said, "Sikkim people want pollution free and environment-friendly Smart Cities that could set an example in the world."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted a session with beneficiaries and entrepreneurs associated with the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, from over 5000 places across the country, through Video conferencing.
"In the last five years, 15 AIIMS have been constructed or are being constructed. 31,000 MBBS and post-graduation seats in the medical sector have been increased in last four-and-half years," he said. (ANI)
