PM Modi has own strategy for Kashmir: BJP assures Yashwant Sinha
Mumbai (Maharashtra), April 26 (ANI): Following former finance minister Yashwant Sinha's assertion for immediate dialogue with stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) acknowledged the veteran leader's intentions, however, assuring that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his own strategy to address the Valley's problems. BJP leader S. Prakash told ANI, "Yashwant Sinha's intentions are noble but he is on his own mission. The government of India has got its own priorities and its own strategy to address Jammu and Kashmir issue." Prakash further stated that he is hopeful that either Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself or somebody in the Prime Minister's Office will speak to Sinha to elicit his views, his opinion or his findings in the case. Resonating similar views, BJP spokesperson, Shaina NC asserted there are many people who seeks meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi but we must understand that the prime minister is here to deliver on an action plan. "Yashwant Sinha is entitled to seek an appointment with the Prime Minister but I think Prime Minister very well knows his role and responsibilities in leading this nation," Shaina told ANI. She further stated there will be no compromise on terror and separatist group in the valley. In an exclusive interview to a leading news agency, former Union Minister, who twice led a group of 'concerned citizens' to Kashmir in 2016, said they haven't heard back yet on their findings and suggestions. Sinha added that he had left a request for meeting the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, but "unfortunately there has been no response". "They need not respond to us, but they should respond to the situation," Sinha was quoted as having said in the interview. He further said that the PDP-BJP government needed to "abide by the promises they themselves have made in the Agenda of Alliance (AoA)." (ANI)
