PM Modi has changed politics of casteism, vote bank to vikasvaad, accountability: JP Nadda

"10 years ago, it was ingrained in the mind of the common man of India that nothing is going to change now. This is how politics is done, everyone here is dishonest, gundaraj will go on. These thoughts about politics were formed in the mind of the common man. But after the arrival of PM Modi, everything changed in the politics of India. This 2024 elections which is going on, you will be voting for RK Singh and also fulfil the mission of Viksit Bharat. This is the difference," Nadda said while speaking at Madhya Pradesh's Chitrakoot on Thursday.

Chitrakoot (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 9 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the age-old politics of casteism, vote bank and hooliganism to that of development, accountability and "report card politics".
Pointing out the difference in politics 10 years back, Nadda said, "What was the meaning of politics 10 years ago? Casteism, personality cult, parivarvaad, corruption. Vote bank politics, appeasement, making brothers fight against brothers, making castes fight against another, making hills fight against plains, north against south, east against west reigned. They practised vote bank politics to make people associate with elections."
The BJP chief said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the nature of politics, making it "accountable" and inclusive.
"PM Modi took the politics of development forward in 10 years and kept the mantra, 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Viswas Sabka Prayas. He changed the character, language, culture of politics. Today report card politics, accountable politics, inclusive politics is being practised. Politics is now about vikasvaad (development)," Nadda said.
Nadda questioned whether Congress leaders used to present their "report card" when they were in power.
"RK Patel has presented his report card. Have you heard any leader presenting his report card during the time of the Congress? This is the culture of PM Modi. We have fulfilled what we had promised and much more than that," the senior BJP leader said.
Pointing out that India has risen to be the fifth largest economy in the world even amid uncertain economic situations, the BJP chief promised that India will rise to be the third-largest economy when PM Narendra Modi is voted to power and continues in his third tenure.
"There was a time when India was labelled as a backward nation on the global stage. There was a time when we used to follow other nations. Today America's and Europe's economies are in trouble...But even in such difficult times, India which was in the 11th position in economic development five years back is now in the fifth position. When you vote him to power and make him the Prime Minister for the third time, India will emerge to be the third-largest economy in the world," Nadda said.
Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh are being conducted in four phases. While the first three phases of polling were held on April 19, April 26 and May 7, the last phase of voting is scheduled on May 13. (ANI)
