PM Modi became 'Man of the Year' by ripping everyone's pockets, throats: Congress
New Delhi [India], Dec. 5(ANI): The Congress Party on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi bagged the online reader's poll for TIME magazine's Person of the Year by ripping everyone's pockets and throats, adding the latter is least concerned about the common people courtesy the rising prices of commodities. "All of us know how online voting works. It is very nice that he is on the cover page of TIME magazine. Many people have come on the cover page earlier also, but he has torn every citizen's pocket. He is least concerned about the common people courtesy the rising prices and by putting all of us in problem he has become 'Man of the Year'," Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary told ANI. "Who won't consider him the 'Man of the Year' in this world? Is it a normal thing to tear up every citizen's pocket and throat with one stroke?" she added. The poll of the TIME magazine's Person of the Year had contenders like U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, outgoing U.S. leader Barack Obama Russian President Vladimir Putin, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, FBI Chief James Comey, Apple CEO Tim Cook, parents of slain Muslim-American soldier Humanyun Khan, Khizr and Ghazala Khan, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Prime Minister Modi had won the readers' poll of Time's Person of the Year in 2014 as well. The Prime Minister was among the contenders for the annual honour even in 2015, but could not make it to the final eight. Last year, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was Time's 'Person of the Year'.
