PM accusing nation of holding black money: DMK
Chennai (Tami Nadu) [India] Nov. 28 (ANI): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is accusing the entire nation of holding on to black. "The Prime Minister is accusing over 120 crore people of India for holding black money. Is he clean then? Only he and his supporters are clean, rest of the people are supporters of black money. This is like abusing the common people. He is accusing every Indian of being a supporter of black money. Whoever is going to exchange the money in bank has black money," DMK spokesperson T.K.S. Elangovan told ANI. Elangovan further said that the prime minister is speaking outside Parliament as he knows that nobody is going to question him for his remarks, and added, that the Center has failed to perform his duty to bring black money from outside, and hence unleashed pressure of demonetisation on the common people. "Whatever promises he made so far he has not fulfilled it as yet. He neither cares about Parliament nor about the Parliamentary system because, whatever he speaks outside, cannot be questioned. No Prime Minister in the past sixty years of India's independence has spoken outside parliament, and when Parliament is in session," he said. The opposition parties have called for a countrywide protest today against what they call the government's "mishandling" of the currency ban. Only the Left Front, which has a presence in Kerala, Bengal and Tripura, has called for a strike or 'Bharat Bandh' in the three states. Prime Minister Modi yesterday slammed the opposition for its all-India shutdown call over demonetisation, saying the country instead needed an end to evils like corruption and black money. Addressing the BJP's Parivartan Rally in Kasya assembly segment of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister said, "On the one hand we are initiating steps to curb corruption, but on the other hand a few people are talking about 'Bharat Bandh'." He described demonetisation as a cure to the 70-year-old disease of corruption. (ANI)

The post also highlighted the 2020 COVID-19 oxygen crisis, when families stood in long lines outside hospitals and suppliers as the public health system collapsed.
