"People of state will elect MVA": Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivkumar exudes confidence ahead of Maharashtra assembly polls

With the Maharashtra election inching closer, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader DK Shivakumar on Monday expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) winning the upcoming state polls.

Latur (Maharashtra) [India], November 18 (ANI): With Maharashtra election inching closer, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader DK Shivakumar on Monday expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) winning the upcoming state polls.
Speaking to ANI in Maharashtra's Latur, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that the people of the state will elect MVA with more than 175 seats.
"In Maharashtra, we are confident that Congress will come to power with a thumping majority. The people of the state will elect MVA with 175 seats. We will form the government", the Congress leader said, adding to perform good governance after voting to power.
Reacting to the speculation of a rift within the MVA alliance on the Maharashtra CM post, Shivkumar said, "There is no dispute on any issue; the party, after the results, will discuss the CM face.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has appealed to voters to exercise their biggest right for upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls, second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections and a few by-elections scheduled on November 20.
CM Yadav further mentioned that he would conduct four roadshows and rallies in Mumbai on the last day of campaigning. The election campaigning for the said elections is going to conclude on Monday evening.
Notably, 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will go to polls on November 20, with counting of votes to be held on November 23.
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, comprising Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar), and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, is up against the Mahayuti alliance, which is comprised of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath-led Shiv Sena, and NCP (Ajit Pawar).
In the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
