Patna (Bihar) [India], September 3 (ANI): Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin on Wednesday said that the people of Bihar are deeply hurt by the alleged derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at a Mahagathbandhan event.
Nabin said the people of Bihar will "avenge this insult."
He said PM Modi has always served the nation like a 'sevak' and earned the love and respect of women through schemes like Ujjwala Yojana and PM Awas Yojana.
Speaking to ANI, Nitin Nabin said, "PM Modi has a connection with the people of the country. He has served them like a 'sevak'. He has increased the respect for women in the country. Be it the construction of 'Izzat Ghar' or Ujjwala Yojana or PM Awas Yojana, he has honoured women with everything."
"Women in the country consider him their 'sevak', their brother. There is outrage across the country over the insult to such a man. So, when the PM was speaking, he seemed hurt. People of Bihar are ashamed because the kind of words that were used from the soil of Bihar, every son of Bihar is hurt by it. People of Bihar will avenge this insult to PM Modi," he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hit out at the RJD and Congress over the alleged remarks.
Speaking at an event, the Prime Minister said that the abusive comments were not just an insult to his mother, but to all mothers, sisters and daughters of the country. PM Modi stated that he had never imagined that such an act would take place on the tradition-rich land of Bihar. He also termed mothers as everyone's "self-respect" and "world."
"Mother is our world. Mother is our self-respect. I had not even imagined what happened a few days ago in this tradition-rich Bihar. My mother was abused from the stage of RJD-Congress in Bihar... These abuses are not just an insult to my mother. These are insults to the mothers, sisters and daughters of the country. I know... how bad all of you, every mother of Bihar, felt after seeing and hearing this! I know, as much pain as I have in my heart, the people of Bihar are also in the same pain," he said.
The Prime Minister stated that he was separated from his mother so that he could serve the country's other women.
He stated that his mother, who passed away after completing 100 years and had nothing to do with politics, was abused by the state of RJD and Congress. (ANI)
