"People looking for change and manifesto given by Congress is for change": Karti P Chidambaram

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 6 (ANI): Congress leader and candidate from Sivaganga constituency, Karti P Chidambaram on Saturday said that people are looking for change and the manifesto given by Congress is for change.
Karti P Chidambaram, said, "They (BJP) have failed on every front. There is distress among the people. People are looking for change and the manifesto given by Congress is for change. We were getting welcome when I said that people will be getting Rs 400 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme."
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections is the voice of the people of India, and it has been prepared after listening to the voices of millions of people.
Addressing the 'Jana Jatara Sabha' here today, Rahul Gandhi listed five guarantees (Nyay) that the party has promised in its manifesto.
"We will bring minimum wage for workers in labour justice. We will implement a minimum wage of Rs 400 per day for MGNREGA," Rahul Gandhi said.
Voting for all 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and the only constituency in Puducherry will be held in the first phase on April 19.
During polling for the 2019 general elections, the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, comprising the Congress, VCK, MDMK, CPI, CPI(M), IUML, MMK, KMDK, TVK, and AIFB, registered a landslide victory, winning 38 of the 39 seats.
The DMK-led alliance secured a landslide victory by bagging 38 out of 39 seats. The Congress, which was also a part of the alliance, bagged 8 seats out of the nine contested.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on the other hand, won only one seat.In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Indian National Congress candidate V Vaithilingam won the only seat in the Puducherry Parliamentary Constituency.
The polling will be conducted in seven phases across the country from April 19 to June 1. The counting of votes will be on June 4. (ANI)
