People have noticed failure of BJP-led central govt: Siddaramaiah

"The support for Congress is beyond expectations. We are confident of winning at least 20 seats in the state. Guarantee schemes are being provided to people. But Modi has not fulfilled any promises made in 2014 and 2019," he said.

Belagavi (West Bengal) [India], April 30 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that people have noticed the failure of the BJP government at the centre and the achievement of the Congress government in the state.
He said that he is fully confident that the Congress party will get a majority in the state. He was speaking to the media after the Prajadhwani-2 program organized in Gokak today.
"The support for Congress is beyond expectations. We are confident of winning at least 20 seats in the state. Guarantee schemes are being provided to people. But Modi has not fulfilled any promises made in 2014 and 2019," he said.
Responding to a media question about Modi criticizing the Congress government in the state, the CM said that PM Modi is lying.
"What action has the central government taken in incidents of violence in Manipur? Reservations have been given to minorities for 30 years. Basavaraja Bommai had abolished 4 per cent reservation when he was the Chief Minister. When this order was challenged in the Supreme Court, the Bommai government gave an undertaking that it would continue the reservation," he said.
Responding to Modi's statement that if Congress comes to power, they will conduct a survey and take away women's Mangalasutra, the CM said that Modi is telling such blatant lies just for politics and votes.
"The Congress party was in power in the country for the last five decades. Did they ever steal the Mangalasutra of women? Why is he making such statements being the responsible Prime Minister of the country? Modi did not fulfil any promises of bringing black money from abroad and depositing it in the accounts, doubling the income of farmers, creating 2 crore jobs, increasing prices and reducing inflation," he said.
Answering the media's question about the sexual harassment case of Janata Dal Secular's (JDS) Prajwal Revanna, he said that the state government has formed an SIT to investigate the case and action will be taken based on the investigation report.
Responding to a question about Siddaramaiah's criticism that he has forgotten the help received from BJP leaders during his son's death, the CM said, "My son's death took place abroad and the body was brought back to the country and the chief minister clarified that he did not seek the help of PM Narendra Modi or others in this matter."
