Peace neither in Pak's mind nor in heart: Defence Expert
New Delhi [India], Apr. 3 (ANI): In the wake of the recent ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir, defence expert D.S Grewal on Tuesday said Pakistan is continuing proxy war against India, adding peace is neither in the Indian neighbour's mind nor in heart. "Pakistan is continuing proxy war against India. It only talks about peace but peace is neither in its mind nor in heart," Grewal told ANI in Ludhiana. He added that a new trend is being witnessed in Kashmir wherein civilians disrupt the ongoing anti-terror operations to rescue the cornered terrorists. "When security forces take on a Pakistan controlled terrorist then immediately WhatsApp messages by Masarat Alam and other terror sympathisers are sent to the civilians living near operation area to help the cornered terrorist," he said. "As soon as the message spreads, civilians from the nearby areas pelt stones at the security forces to fail the operation," he added. The defence expert also backed Army Chief General General Bipin Rawat's assertion that those supporting terrorists are also terrorists and would be dealt as terrorists. Meanwhile, senior journalist Rahul Jalali opined that terror networks operating from Pakistan want to disrupt the peaceful situation in Srinagar. "The recent grenade attack in Nowhatta and ceasefire violations in Poonch are indications that Pakistan wants to raise the temperature on the Line of Control (LoC) to help terrorists sneak into India," he told ANI in New Delhi. "Ceasefire violations by Pakistan have been happening in Jammu and Kashmir. There was a lull for about a couple of weeks but again ceasefire violation has started in Poonch. I think this is happening because winter is over and summer has arrived. The traditional Pakistan game plan is to give covering fire to the terrorists when they want to sneak them into India," said Jalali. Commenting on the recent grenade attack in Nowhatta, Jalali said the terrorists want to make Srinagar the center of their operations since the army has withdrawn from the area. "The security agencies should tighten their belts to thwart the terror game plan in Srinagar," he added. In the recent past, Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire violations. The recent incident happened on Monday in Digwar sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Militants on Sunday launched a grenade attack in Nowhatta area of old Srinagar hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Nashri-Chenani tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. A policeman was killed while 11 other police personnel were injured in the attack. (ANI)
