New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): After the Central Bureau of Investigation obtained sanction by Delhi Lt Governor to prosecute Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Excise Policy case, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal on Saturday said that it has cleared the path for the CBI to investigate the matter thoroughly and find out those involved in it.
"After the permission of the Lieutenant Governor, now the way has been cleared for the CBI, the matter should be investigated thoroughly and whoever is involved in it, the entire truth should be brought forward. The investigation is going on in the case and strict action should be taken against those who are involved in it," Khandelwal said.
The central probe agency recently filed the sanction in the Rouse Avenue court.
CBI has already filed a supplementary charge sheet against Dellhi Chief Minister Kejriwal who was arrested on June 26 and in judicial custody till August 27.
The court is to consider the supplementary charge on August 27 and a sanction was required to prosecute Kejriwal.

The Special Judge Kaveri Baweja is also scheduled to consider the ED's supplementary chargesheet filed against Kejriwal and others on the same day.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday adjourned for September 5 the hearing of the pleas of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking bail and challenging the Delhi High Court order upholding his arrest by the CBI in a corruption case stemming from the alleged excise policy scam.
On August 5, the Delhi High Court upheld the arrest of the Chief Minister as "legal". It had dismissed Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest, saying it was only after sufficient evidence was collected and sanction was obtained in April 2024 that the CBI proceeded with further probe against him.
Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21, 2024 in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22.
On June 26, 2024, AAP Chief was arrested by CBI while he was in custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the case. (ANI)
