"Passenger ropeway at Shree Mata Chintpurni would ensure passable and safe movement of devotees": Himachal CM Sukhu

A 'Letter of Award' for the development of the passenger ropeway project was handed over to Sky Himalayas Ropeways Private Ltd by Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation at Dharamsala, an official statement said on Friday.

Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) [India], December 22 (ANI): A 'Letter of Award' for the development of the passenger ropeway project for Shree Mata Chintpurni was handed over to Sky Himalayas Ropeways Private Ltd by Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation at Dharamshala, an official statement said on Friday.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Sukhu said, "1.1-kilometre aerial ropeway would be constructed with an outlay of Rs. 76.50 crores. This modern transportation system would facilitate 700 passengers per hour in each direction, significantly enhancing the overall pilgrim experience and will also provide direct and indirect employment to the youth of the area as well."
The Chintpurni Temple in Una district is of immense historical and spiritual significance and was recognized as one of the most sacred Shaktipeeth of Himachal Pradesh, stated the Chief Minister.
"This ropeway will not only help in easing congestion but would ensure a passable and safe movement of the devotees," CM said.
He also directed the company to complete the project in a time-bound manner so that pilgrims as well as the local populace could enjoy the facility.
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Rural Development and Panchayats Raj Minister Anirudh Singh were also present on the occasion. (ANI)
