Panneerselvam maintains he is leader of 'true' AIADMK

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb. 24 (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader and former Tamil Nadu chief minister O. Panneerselvam on Friday said he is the true AIADMK leader and added that the MLAs who voted in favour of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami during the February floor test don't represent the party in the state assembly.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb. 24 (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader and former Tamil Nadu chief minister O. Panneerselvam on Friday said he is the true AIADMK leader and added that the MLAs who voted in favour of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami during the February floor test don't represent the party in the state assembly. "We are the true AIADMK. Entire AIADMK cadre is with us. In future, in the people's court this will be proved," Panneerselvam said. Hitting out at legislatores, belonging to the rival faction he said, "The 122 MLAs, who voted in favour of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami in the floor test, don't represent AIADMK." Remembering Jayalalithaa on her 69th birthday, Panneerselvam added: "Amma had said that people should not come to her house for celebrating her birthday instead they should go to the houses of poor and distribute welfare." He further said that Jayalalithaa had made the AIADMK a people and cadre party adding, "she didn't want a family to take over but today everything has changed." Tamil Nadu politics is witnessing a turn of events every other day following Jayalalithaa's demise. (ANI)
