New Delhi [India], January 30 (ANI): Coming out heavily against the Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda said that the 'panic button' which AAP has claimed to install in buses needs to be installed in the 'Sheesh Mahal', where women are allegedly getting "disrespected and misbehaved."
Hitting out hand at the AAP while addressing a public rally in Delhi's Krishna Nagar, BJP National President JP Nadda said that the panic button which AAP has claimed to install in buses needs to be installed in the Sheesh Mahal (Delhi CM residence) where women are allegedly getting disrespected and misbehaved.
Nadda's remarks comes in connection with Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal's allegations of her being assaulted by the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant Bibhav Kumar at the residence of then Delhi CM.
Nadda also alleged that the installation of panic buttons in buses turned out to be a 'scam' of Rs 500 crore.
"They claimed to have installed panic buttons on the buses. However, it turned out to be a scam of Rs 500 crore. Have you seen a panic button on the buses? A panic button was required in the Sheesh Mahal where women are disrespected and misbehaved with...," said Nadda.
Debunking AAP's claim of being an honest party Nadda said, "They (Aam Admi Party) used to call themselves 'Kattar Imandaar', but they turned out to be so 'Kattar Imandaar' that their Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers and MLAs had all gone to jail,"
"They used to say that they would bring about change in education but they committed a liquor scam worth thousands of crores of rupees. AAP-DA govt turned out to be so corrupt that their CM, Dy. CM their ministers and five MLAs were behind bars. They claimed to bring revolution in the field of education. Instead of working on education, they indulged in Rs 2800 crore of liquor scams," he added.
"I have seen many people lying, but Kejriwal has broken the world record of lying. No one can lie as much as Kejriwal. He is a lying machine," Nadda said.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, with the vote counting set for February 8. As the election date approaches, the contest has heated up, with the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party all vying for victory.
In the 2020 elections, AAP won 62 out of the 70 seats, while BJP secured just 8 seats. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has struggled in recent polls, failing to secure any seats. (ANI)
