Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 29 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Friday said that Pakistan ruined the Indian state of Punjab by sending intoxicants as part of a conspiracy.
He made the remark while addressing a program organised in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Indore. A felicitation ceremony for all the MLAs of the district who won in the recently concluded state assembly polls was held at the BJP office here.
Eight MLAs, including Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Tulsi Silavat participated in the program. Former minister and MLA from Mhow constituency Usha Thakur did not attend the function.
Addressing MLAs and all the party workers present in the program, Vijayvargiya said, "Small children are becoming addicted to intoxicants in Indore and we are going to take huge action against intoxicants here. Earlier, the youth of Punjab only used to win any game played, but now Punjab has gone far behind due to intoxicant addiction. Pakistan ruined Punjab by sending intoxicants there with conspiracy because the Sikh regiment there is considered very powerful. That's why Pakistan ruined Punjab by conspiring."
Indore is also becoming an intoxicant spot and some people have an evil eye on Indore who are slowly bringing intoxicants to the slums here, he added.
Meanwhile, taking a jibe at senior Congress leader Sam Pitroda's remark about Ram Mandir, the BJP leader said, "What will Sam Pitroda understand about India's sentiments and faith? He is giving the guidance to Congress leaders while sitting abroad that is why Congress is in this condition. On the consecration day of Ram temple on January 22, 2024, events will be organised in every temple of Indore."
Notably, earlier this week, Pitroda while speaking to ANI targeted the Central government asking if Ram Mandir is the real issue or unemployment is.
Speaking about the upcoming consecration ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, Pitroda said, "I have no problem with any religion. It is okay to go visit the temple once in a while, but you can't make that the main platform."
"He is everybody's Prime Minister and not a party's Prime Minister and that's the message the people of India want him to have. Talk about employment, talk about inflation, talk about science and technology and challenges. They (people) have to decide what are the real issues- is Ram Mandir the real issue? Or unemployment is a real issue. Is Ram Mandir the real issue or Inflation is a real issue?" he added. (ANI)
