Pak just not really willing to take any action against terror groups: Expert
New Delhi [India], Sept. 6 (ANI): With Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking on Pakistan at the G 20 Summit, saying only one nation in South Asia is spreading agents of terror, director (research) at Indian Council for World Affairs Dr. Pankaj Jha on Tuesday said for the last two-three years, Islamabad has really been trying to sideline by just saying they also suffered from terrorists attacks, which is just a camouflage and a fake sort of an announcement that clearly shows it is just not really willing to take any action against the terror groups. "Basically for the last two-three years, Pakistan has been really trying to sideline that it is not the only nation which is promoting or supporting terrorism, and it has become in a way incompetent enough to really control terrorism, and is just saying we also suffered from the terrorists attacks and from all those things, which is just a camouflage and a fake sort of an announcement. This clearly shows that Pakistan is just not really willing to take any action against the terror groups," Jha told ANI. Intervening in the last session on 'Other Issues Affecting World Economy' on the second day of the 11th G20 Summit at Hangzhou in China, Prime Minister Modi said the growing forces of terror and violence pose a great fundamental challenge before the world community. "There are some nations that use it as an instrument of state policy. Indeed, one single nation in South Asia is spreading these agents of terror in the countries of our region," he said. Jha said basically, the Prime Minister just meant to say Pakistan is the one nation, which is causing all the unrest, all the trouble, and it has safe haven for all the terrorists. "And, given the fact that it has been very actively promoting terrorists and even when sufficient amount of evidence has been given to Pakistan, it refuses to take any action be it in the case of Mumbai terror attack and for that matter the Pathankot terror attack. This clearly shows that there is a non-committal approach on the part of Pakistan," he said. "Second, the way it really wants to highlight the issue of Kashmir or related to water sharing and all those things have been kept on the side burner because India definitely wants to discuss terrorism first and anything later on," he added. Speaking at the last session, the Prime Minister further said, "We expect the international community to speak and act in unity, and to respond with urgency to fight this menace. Those, who sponsor and support terrorism, must be isolated and sanctioned and not rewarded. India appreciates the G20 initiative on combating the financing of terrorism." Jha further said given the fact now that India is a progressive economy, which has a clout and political will and has its political standing, and whatever Prime Minister Modi will be saying will resonate in the long run in the coming days. "It needs to be seen that how this support to this whole terror definition as well as taking a counteraction with regard to terror supporting nations under different auspicious as well as different organisations need to be seen," he added.
