Pak deliberately trying to needle India: Congress

New Delhi, Aug 4 (ANI): The Congress Party on Thursday lashed out at Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his insensitive description of Kashmir issue as the 'main pillar' of Islamabad's foreign policy and alleged that the Asian neighbour was deliberately trying to needle and make an atmosphere that are not good for talks. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said this is plain and silly talk by the Pakistani Prime Minister, who is trying to fish in troubled waters in Kashmir. "And I think must understand that as far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned the question is over for them. What remains is the Pakistan occupied part of Kashmir and the Chinese occupied part of Kashmir, returning back to India which I think sooner or later is going to happen," Dikshit told ANI. "We must also realize that every time there is a discussion when peace could be taken forward, Pakistani agencies have always done this kind of an unnecessary discussion. And this time, it's even more hurting when the Pakistani Prime Minister makes statements which are insensitive and in fact factually wrong and incorrect and encouraging terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir," he added. The Congress leader expressed hope that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is presently in Islamabad to attend the SAARC Interior/Home Ministers meeting, raises this issue. "Any discussion on SAARC would be important for greater peace, trade and cooperation in the whole of South Asia and in fact would affect peace in entire Asia. If Pakistan deliberately tries to needle and make an atmosphere that is not good for talks," Dikshit said. "And I really don't know whether there is a civilian government running Pakistan or a military government run in Pakistan or a clandestine terrorist based organization's government running Pakistan," he added. The Pakistan Prime Minister yesterday described the Kashmir issue as the main pillar of Islamabad's foreign policy. "Kashmir is witnessing a new wave of freedom movement," he said while addressing the concluding session of the three-day conference of Pakistani envoys in Islamabad. Sharif also called upon the Pakistani diplomatic corps to tell the world that Kashmir is not an internal matter of India. (ANI)
