Pak believes dealing with bunch of amateurs in South Block: Congress

New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): Holding the ruling dispensation responsible for the unrest in Kashmir Valley, the Congress on Tuesday alleged the Centre's continuing flip-flop policies are emboldening Pakistan to such an extent that Islamabad appears convinced that it is dealing with a bunch of amateurs both at the South and North Block. Congress leader Manish Tewari said Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's policy towards Pakistan over the last 25 months has been a classical story of somersaults, flip flops and U-turns that has emboldened the Asian neighbour. "If the government believes that Pakistan is responsible for the latest spectre of violence in Kashmir then unfortunately the government has no one but itself to blame," he told ANI. Tewari said the government's policies of somersaults and flip flops have made Pakistan arrogant and impertinent. "They (Pakistan) believe they are dealing with a bunch of amateurs in South Block around whom they can run circles," he added. The curfew imposed in the valley in wake of the protest over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani continued for the eleventh consecutive day today. The incidents of violence continue to crop up despite the Centre and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urging the people to maintain calm and cooperate with the state government to restore peace in the valley. Curfew and restrictions continue across Kashmir. Two civilians were killed in retaliatory firing last evening after locals clashed with armed forced in Qazigund area of South Kashmir. With this, the death toll of civilians has reached around 40. (ANI)
