Amravati (Maharashtra) [India], November 10 (ANI): Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday listed the promises fulfilled by his government and claimed that more than Rs 10 lakh crores were granted for the development of Maharashtra by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Centre against only Rs 1 lakh 91 thousand crores during Congress-led UPA's 10 years.
Addressing a rally here, Shah also urged people to make BJP candidate Umesh Atmaramji Yawalkar win from the Morshi assembly seat, and promised to he will come back to attend Yawalkar's victory parade.
"Today we have launched BJP's Sankalp Patra and Maha Vikas Aghadi's promises are only to get votes while PM Modi always fulfils the promises made to the public. Article 370 was removed, Ram Mandir was built in Ayodhya, Triple Talaq was abolished, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code were introduced. Waqf Amendment Act will also be passed in Parliament," Shah said.
"In 10 years, PM Modi sent Rs 10 lakh 15 thousand 300 crores for the development of Maharashtra... but they (UPA govt) sent only Rs 1 lakh 91 thousand crores... hence Vote for BJP....," he added.
Ahead of Amravati, Shah held a rally in Buldhana where he slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, and said that the Congress party did not fulfil the guarantees it gave in the states like Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana.
He further added that Maha Vikas Aghadi's guarantee is a guarantee of lies, corruption, and appeasement.
"...Maha Vikas Aghadi has given a lot of guarantees. Rahul Gandhi was angry with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge because he spoke the truth and said that only those promises should be made which can be fulfilled. The Congress did not fulfil the guarantees it gave in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. Maha Vikas Aghadi's guarantee is a guarantee of lies, corruption, appeasement..." said Shah.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with votes for all 288 constituencies to be counted on November 23.
The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), seeks to reclaim power in the state, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. (ANI)
