Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Aug 7 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday assured that attempts are being made to normalise the situation in the Valley after Awantipora Police, 50 RR and CRPF jointly gunned down a Lashkar-e-Taiba's (LeT) terrorist. Deputy General, J-K, SP Vaid while speaking to ANI said, "The resolve of security forces is to get freedom from the menace of Pakistan sponsored terrorism." Vaid informed that following a specific intelligence input about the presence of two to three terrorists in Samboora village, the Awantipura Police in joint efforts with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon-and-search operation at Akram Dar Mohalla. "The gardener was late at night and one Pakistan terrorist was killed in the encounter and two others were injured," Vaid added. He further said that two Pakistan nationals belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and one from the local war. LeT terrorist Umer of Abu Ismail group was killed in an encounter with the security forces in Samboora area of Pulwama district. Role of Umer in different crimes committed by Abu Ismail group was being ascertained. (ANI)
