Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 12 (ANI): Stressing that the main concern of the Congress during Lok Sabha polls in 2024 is inflation and unemployment, former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot alleged that the BJP is trying to divert the minds of the people of the country.
Ashok Gehlot said, "The day PM Modi said this, Rahul Gandhi took the names of Ambani-Adani in his rallies. Rahul Gandhi's theme of elections is that 22 industrialists including Ambani-Adani have 70 per cent of the nation's wealth. Our issue for elections is inflation and unemployment but the BJP is trying to divert the minds of the people of the country."
He further asked that if the loans of industrialists can be waived, then why the loans of farmers cannot be waived.
"If Rahul Gandhi had not been taking the names of Ambani-Adani, then what PM Modi said made sense, but Rahul Gandhi is continuously taking their names so PM Modi's statement is beyond understanding. Secondly, I want to say that CBI and ED should register a case against him and take a statement from PM Modi as he made such a big allegation that black money is sent through tempos," he further said.
He asked why a case should not be registered against PM Modi for making such a big allegation and then the inquiry can be taken forward.
"The ED, CBI and Income Tax should start an investigation against the PM. PM is saying black money is going in tempos. In the last 5 years they have toppled democratically elected governments. PM should tell ED if he has any inputs," he further added.
This comes after PM Modi launched a strong attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, questioning their 'silence' on Ambani-Adani, and asking if there is a 'deal' between them. PM Modi also asked if the Congress party has received a "tempo filled with currency notes" from the two businessmen.
"As soon as the election was declared, they (Rahul Gandhi and Congress) stopped abusing Ambani, Adani...I want to ask, the Shehzada of Congress should declare, how much money have they received from Ambani-Adani for the ongoing elections, how many bags of black money have they received?" PM Modi said while addressing a public rally in Telangana's Karimpur on Wednesday.
"Has a tempo filled with currency notes reached Congress? What is the deal? Why have you suddenly stopped abusing Ambani-Adani? Zaroor Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai (There is something wrong here)," he added. (ANI)
