Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Mar 05 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said while the Opposition is consistently trying to conduct “strikes” on him, his aim to is to carry out strikes on terrorism.
“They (opposition) are busy doing ‘mahamilavat’ to remove Modi while Modi is protecting the interests of farmers and workers. They are conducting strikes on Modi while Modi is conducting strikes on terrorism,” he said while addressing a rally here on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress party of just playing politics on the poor people.  "No effort was spared for playing politics about it. They gave slogans of ‘Garibi Hatao’. Today, some people are trying to portray themselves as ‘messiah’ of the poor. Communists also formed governments in several states in the country. They also never thought of workers from the unorganised sector but a ‘chaiwala’ did it in fifty-five months.”
“For some, poverty is a just a mentality. For them, it is just a game of getting pictures clicked. But for us, poverty is a challenge,” he added.
Responding to the Congress’ ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ remark, Prime Minister Modi said, "Plans were made for the poor earlier too but they were never able to reach the poor.  But now, your ‘chowkidar’ is alert and that is why well-wishers of middlemen are feeling troubled. They(middlemen) have gone bankrupt in the last five years. But with your blessings, this ‘chowkidar’ is adamant and standing tall on his intentions as well.”
