"Opposition is anti-development...": Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik

"The opposition is anti-development and anti-people. They only mislead people. They create barriers in development work. People will never elect them to power", CM Patnaik said while addressing a public gathering in the state capital Bhubaneshwar.

Bhbaneshwar (Odisha) [India], October 2 (ANI): Lambasting the opposition as "anti-development" Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik on Monday said, "people will never elect them to power".
"The opposition is anti-developmnent and anti-people. They only mislead people. They create barriers in development work. People will never elect them to power", CM Patnaik said while addressing a public gathering in the state capital  Bhubaneshwar. 
The Odisha Chief Minister also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birth anniversary today 
Praising the state government, he said, "The ruling BJD has been working to uplift downtrodden, women, ST and SC community and also the youth of the state. The women's reservation bill, which the party has long been fighting for, has finally seen the light of the day. The governments Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana has proved to be a game changer in health sector. The state has also set example in transforming schools, food safety and sports". 
Meanwhile, the Odisha Chief Minister launched BJD’s ‘Jan Sampark Padayatra’ which will continue till October 11. 
It will cover every nook and corner of the state starting from the district level to highlight the state government’s welfare programmes among people.
It is worth mentioning that the state assembly polls in Odisha are scheduled to be held in 2024.
In 2019, the BJD formed the government after winning 112 seats out of 147. (ANI)
