Opposition doesn't know how to handle matters of national importance, says Sitharaman

New Delhi [India], Nov. 30(ANI): Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday criticised the opposition for not knowing what to do on demonetisation and not being clear on how to handle a matter of national importance and sensitivity. "They are completely shifting goal posts by the day, every day. As a result today they have reached a point where they have lost sensitivity about a matter of terrorists attacking our defence posts, and on which the cleansing operation is going on. They have gone to the extent of demanding an obituary even before the entire combing operation is not over, Clearly exposes the opposition on both the grounds not knowing what to do on demonetisation and not being clear on how to handle a matter of national importance and sensitivity," Sitharaman told the media. She further said that since this whole parliament session has started, the opposition has wanted a discussion. Then, the next day onwards, when the opposition found that they had no substance, they said the presence of the Prime Minister is important. The Prime Minister came both to the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, and after that, they shifted, saying the Prime Minister should apologize. "We do not know for what, and then the next day onwards, they started saying 'Aakrosh' and when 'Aakrosh Divas' also failed, they moved over today to talk about obituary references. It is clear that the opposition is completely unclear on how to handle this matter of demonetisation. Is it proper for the opposition to insist on having an account even now before the entire operation gets completed? And, therefore, it may not be out of place to remind ourselves as to what the opposition has been doing," she added. The Parliament was adjourned for the day following an uproar on issues of demonetisation and the Nagrota terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)
