New Delhi [India], March 20 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal lauded his party-led Delhi Municipal Corporation for approving a provision of Rs 800 crores to regularise 12,000 of its contractual employees and said that "only AAP" could fulfil the demands of the people.
"Great news for 12,000 temporary employees of Delhi Municipal Corporation. The Aam Aadmi Party government in the Municipal Corporation has fulfilled their years old demand by making a provision of Rs 800 crores in the budget," Kejriwal wrote in a post on X on Wednesday.
"Now all these employees of the corporation will be permanent, only Aam Aadmi Party could do this. Many congratulations to all the employees and their families," he added.

Party leader and AAP in-charge of MCD elections Durgesh Pathak also congratulated the people for being made permanent employees.
Delhi mayor Mahesh Kumar Khichi announced a budget allocation of Rs 800 crore for worker salaries and criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party for being 'unable' to handle a Dalit mayor's leadership, highlighting the ruckus during the MCD session.
"The BJP, unable to digest a Dalit Mayor's leadership, turned the House into a battleground--resorting to chaos and physical altercations that left AAP councillors injured," read a statement from AAP.
"For two years, the BJP has done everything to stall proceedings, but AAP remains focused on delivering for Delhi's people," the statement added.
The Delhi Mayor addressed a press conference on Wednesday during the MCD House meeting on the revised budget for 2024-25 and the budget estimates for 2025-26. Deputy Mayor Ravinder Bhardwaj and Leader of the House Mukesh Goel were also present on the occasion.
Mayor Khichi called out BJP councillors for misconduct, which led to disruptions in the House proceedings and even injuries to some AAP councillors, adding that "For the past two years, the BJP has deliberately obstructed the smooth functioning of the House."
Leader of the House Mukesh Goel presented the revised budget for 2024-25 and the budget estimates for 2025-26 in the House, securing its approval. He highlighted other key provisions, such as increasing the allocation of per ward for development works to Rs 80 lakh, increased from Rs 75 lakh. (ANI)
