Only a JPC probe can prove scam, says CPI(M) on BJP land deals
Kolkata (West Bengal), Nov. 27 (ANI): The Communist Party of India (Marxist) said Sunday that only a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Bharatiya Janata Party's alleged land scam can bring truth to the forefront. CPI (M) leader Ritabrata Banerjee told ANI, "It (scam) cannot be proved without a JPC and only that can throw light on what actually happened. Definitely the BJP ministers had information (of the demonetisation move)." "Information has come from Bihar that BJP people have bought land there (just before demonetisation). We are sure more such information will come. And that is why we are demanding a JPC probe in the Parliament," he added. Some media reports suggest that the BJP bought acres and acres of land in Bihar till the first week of November, just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation on November 8.
