One examination, one fee, one course transparent admissions process for SRM University
Chennai [India], Nov.21 (ANI-Newsvoir): The application for the B.Tech admission for the academic year 2017 in SRM University was launched on November 19. The admission to B.Tech is based on the eligibility criteria in the qualifying examination i.e., Higher Secondary Examination and SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) (UG) 2017. It is mandatory that all candidates have to give SRMJEEE to get an admission into B.Tech offered by SRM University in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and NCRcampuses. Our emphasis this year will be on One Entrance Examination One Counseling, One Course One Fee, All B.Tech Programmes All Campuses. Salient features of this year admission is that NRI, PIO and OCI card holders will have an option to seek admission by appearing for SRMJEEE (UG). They can also apply under International category if they wish so, but by paying fees applicable for International students. It is planned to conduct online examination across 120 centers in India, and centers in Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The examination will be for a period of 30 days commencing from 1st of April 2017 to make it possible for candidates to choose their date and time of examination as per their convenience. The selection procedure will be very transparent and simple. Based on the cut-off scores for each specialization of B.Tech for each campus, merit list will be announced. Candidates will be called for on-campus counseling as per the order of the merit and candidates can choose their preferred choice of campus and / or specialization and get admitted by paying the tuition fees. In case a candidate just falls short of the cut-off required for a particular specialization of his/her preference, the candidate can retake the entrance examination for a maximum of two times to improve his score. The best of the three scores will be considered for allotting the specialization/branch. It is also proposed to provide a one-time sliding opportunity. Also post admission the enrollment process and course registration will be through our web-based portal. The students will have the benefits of studying under Choice-Based Flexible Credit System.
