Odisha: BJP fields Pitambar Acharya against Naveen Patnaik from Hinjili

Bhubaneswar(Odisha) [India], Mar 25 (ANI) BJP on Monday announced state vice-president Pitambar Acharya as its candidate against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from Hinjili assembly seat in Odisha's Ganjam district.

Bhubaneswar(Odisha) [India], Mar 25 (ANI) BJP on Monday announced its state vice-president Pitambar Acharya as its candidate against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from Hinjili assembly seat in Odisha's Ganjam district.
Patnaik announced earlier that he would contest from two constituencies, Hinjili and Bijepur in the upcoming elections.
Patnaik has been representing Hinjili constituency for last four terms, defeating Congress, since 2000.
Hinjili Assembly seat falls under the Aska Lok Sabha constituency which used to be the stronghold of his father and a legendary figure of Odisha, Biju Patnaik.
Odisha is set to go for a simultaneous poll along with Lok Sabha in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. The state will be voting simultaneously for parliamentary and assembly constituencies. There are 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly seats in Odisha. (ANI)
