Patna (Bihar) [India], October 30 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his "dance" jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and stated that making "shameful" remarks against the PM has become the culture of the Opposition party.
"Nothing could be more shameful than the kind of language he used against the Prime Minister of the country... This has become part of their party's culture," the JDU MP told reporters on Wednesday.
Jha further remembered that this isn't the first time that a personal 'jibe' has been made against the PM or his family, recalling how insults to PM Modi's mother were also hurled at a 'Voter Adhikar rally' stage in Bihar.
"Just look at what their party members said about the Prime Minister's mother in Darbhanga... Whatever a leader says, so will a worker," he said.
Earlier on Thursday, responding to the NDA's aggressive campaign across Bihar, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, took centre stage at an election rally in Muzaffarpur.
Rahul Gandhi said, "If you tell Modi ji to dance on stage in return for votes, he would dance."
Leaders from both the NDA and Mahagathbandhan in Bihar launched aggressive campaigns to sway voters ahead of the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly polls.
Gandhi reiterated his "vote theft" allegations, accusing PM Modi of attempting to steal votes in the Bihar elections.
"They are engaged in stealing your votes. Because they want to end this election disease, I am telling you, they stole elections in Maharashtra, they stole elections in Haryana, and they will try their best in Bihar," he added.
Gandhi addressed a joint rally with the Mahagathbandhan's Chief Ministerial face and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, opening his campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections.
NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
