Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], September 19 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tika Ram Jully on Thursday slammed the Centre for not taking any action against objectionable statements made by BJP leaders at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing reporters during a protest at Shaheed Smarak against the remarks, the Congress leader said that the BJP leaders are trying to spread violence and trying to incite the people.
"The kind of language being used by the minister, calling Rahul Gandhi a terrorist, and calling for his murder, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi or even Amit Shah are not taking any against such comments. It looks like this is happening by the orders of the BJP. Unhone nafrat ke bazaar mein mohabaat ki dukaan kholi hai (Rahul Gandhi has opened shop of love in the market of hatred)," said Jully.
Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasra also participated in the protest and said that Rahul Gandhi is not afraid of such threats adding that it is condemnable that no BJP leader is denouncing these comments.
"They are using violent language and no complaints are being registered against them. There is a BJP government at the centre and they haven't released a statement that such language is wrong. There is talk of cutting off Rahul Gandhi's tongue, of him being killed like his grandmother, and the leader of the opposition is being called a terrorist," Dotasra said.
He further added, "PM Modi's silence is deafening. As someone whose family has made the ultimate sacrifice for the country, with his father and grandmother being martyrs, he should be ashamed to remain silent. Despite travelling the world, he hasn't uttered a word condemning the use of such language."
He also said that the BJP is trying to tear apart the Constitution as they believe in the ideology of Nathuram Godse.
"We said it before, these (BJP) are people who want to tear apart the constitution, they follow the ideology of Nathuram Godse. We will protest against this and we will show them their place by pushing them out of power, in villages, states, wards, the national level all places we would do the work. It is not like the government is doing any good work, even in Rajasthan the government is not doing some great work. They don't even know from where their government starts and they don't even know what work to do where. Go to any minister, MLA, or even CM, they say no one listens to them, so tell us who is incharge," he said
Dotasra also said that BJP the Union Cabinet approving the One Nation One Election proposal is all just a 'jumla', and that they won't be able to pass such a change.
"All the other promises, of giving 15 lakh rupees, giving jobs to 2 crore people daily, even with the women reservation bill, they passed it but now no one can say when it will be implemented," he said.
Earlier, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu stoked a controversy by calling Rahul Gandhi a "number 1 terrorist."
"Rahul Gandhi is not Indian; he has spent most of his time abroad. He does not love his country because he goes overseas and criticises India. His words have been praised by separatists and those involved in making bombs and weapons. Those who try to blow up planes, trains, and roads are supporting Rahul Gandhi. He is the country's number one terrorist and the biggest enemy whom the agencies should catch," Bittu stated earlier.
Shiv Sena MLA from Buldhana, Sanjay Gaikwad also made controversial remarks about the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. He offered a reward of Rs 11 lakh to anyone who cut off Gandhi's tongue.
He stated, "The kind of statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has exposed the true face of the Congress. During the Lok Sabha elections, they sought votes by spreading lies that the Constitution was in danger, claiming the BJP would change it. Today, in America, he said that the reservation system established by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar would be dismantled. These words have come from his mouth. Whoever cuts his tongue, I will give them Rs 11 lakh."
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Police have registered an FIR against Gaikwad. The FIR has been filed against Gaikwad under sections 351(2), 351(4), 192, and 351(3) of the BNS at Buldana City Police Station. (ANI)
