No suicide note has been recovered: Delhi Police on JNU scholar's death

New Delhi [India], Mar. 14 (ANI): A day after a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student allegedly committed suicide at his friend's residence in Munirka, the Delhi Police today said that no suicide note has been recovered, adding the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) will conduct a thorough search.

New Delhi [India], Mar. 14 (ANI): A day after a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student allegedly committed suicide at his friend's residence in Munirka, the Delhi Police today said that no suicide note has been recovered, adding the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) will conduct a thorough search. "No suicide note has been recovered and reason of suicide is unknown. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) will conduct a thorough search and the probe is on," said DCP (South) Ishwar Singh while addressing a press conference here. Muthukrishnan Jeevanantham, a PhD scholar from JNU, allegedly committed suicide in the Munirka Vihar area yesterday. An alumnus of the University of Hyderabad, the 27-year-old Dalit student was found hanging from the ceiling at his friend's residence. "On Monday we got a PCR call at Vasant Vihar Police Station that a boy allegedly committed suicide at his friend's room in Munirka Vihar. In the presence of Goman Kim (the friend) and two of deceased friends from JNU, the door was opened and we found the boy hanging from the fan and the police took him to the hospital," Singh said. "As a precautionary measure, we are requesting for the body's post-portem to be done by the Medical Board with complete videography," he added. The police is further investigation the matter. (ANI)
