Solapur (Maharashtra) [India], October 22 (ANI): There is no place for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, claimed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha, as the state is gearing up for another electoral battle, adding that this time the security deposit of the BJP candidates on all seats will be forfeited.
While speaking to reporters in Maharashtra's Solapur today, Kavitha said, "Last time, BJP's deposit was confiscated at 105 places in Telangana. This time the security deposit on all seats will be forfeited. There is no place for BJP in Telangana. So no matter how many strategies they make for the elections, it will be of no use."
Further, attacking Congress' poll promises in Telangana, Kavitha alleged that the party is copying the BRS' manifesto and giving six guarantees.
"The work which we have been doing for the past 10 years, Congress is just renaming them and giving six guarantees. But I want to ask who is there in Congress to give guarantee to those six guarantees. There is no leader whose guarantee can be considered. They always try to astray people during elections," she added.
The BRS leader also asserted that K Chandrasekar Rao will return to power as Chief Minister of Telangana.
"People of the state are in favour of the BRS as we have done a lot of work for them. We are proud of the work which we have done (for the development of the state). With the blessing of the people of the state, we will again for the government for the third time. This has never happened in the history of any state in South India that any CM has won for the third consecutive time. With the blessings of the people, KCR will again win," Kavitha said.
Expressing confidence in winning Telangana state polls, Kavitha said, "Various types of opinion polls are conducted during elections. Those conducted while sitting in the AC room of a TV studio don't matter. Opinion polls of the general public matter. Opinion polls of farmers and women are important. BRS won with a full majority last time, and this time it will again win with a majority."
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on October 9 that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30. The counting of votes will be done on December 3.
Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress in the upcoming assembly election.
In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119 and had a dominant vote share of 47.4 per cent. Congress came in a distant second with 19 seats. Its vote share was 28.7 per cent. (ANI)
