No one can lower status of constitutional authority: Kiran Bedi on Hitler poster
Puducherry [India], July 21 (ANI): Miffed with a poster that projected her as German dictator Adolf Hitler, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Friday said no one has the right to spoil the image of an officer. "It's been weeks that different kinds of posters that question the government work. You have the right to go on hunger strike, but not to spoil an image of an officer," Bedi told ANI. She further said that no one has the right to lower the status of the constitutional authority. The Lieutenant Governor had earlier tweeted series of posters that crticised her and depicted her as Hitler, who was known for his dictatorship. The posters were allegedly made by a Congress unit as part of its 'Condemnation Agitation against the Central government and the Lt Governor for the process of nominating MLAs.' Here are the series of posters tweeted by Bedi, marked by a 'folded hands' emoticon.

A chapter in the book?
Authors included...! pic.twitter.com/6pLnzpEUYf
— Kiran Bedi (@thekiranbedi) July 21, 2017

This is series of posters.
Here another one which showed the Lt Gov being chased away.. pic.twitter.com/2YumRQBI6Z
— Kiran Bedi (@thekiranbedi) July 21, 2017

Part of a series.. pic.twitter.com/zzsdvhuMcw
— Kiran Bedi (@thekiranbedi) July 21, 2017
The altercation between the Congress-led Puducherry government and the office of the Lieutenant Governor triggered after the nomination of three persons, by the Centre, as the members of the Legislative Assembly on July 4. The three members nominated by the Centre and inducted as members of the Puducherry Assembly were V. Saminathan, K.G. Shankar and S. Selvaganapathy. All three are associated with the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). The Congress alleged that the Centre had finalised the names of the three nominated MLAs in an arbitrary manner 'without adhering to democratic procedures' and Bedi administered oath to them secretly. The Congress also protested against the induction and called for bandh on July 8 in Puducherry. (ANI)
