Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 17 (ANI): Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday hit out the Congress-led Telangana government for allegedly not fulfilling the promises made by the party ahead of assembly polls.
The BJP leader said that the Congress has not implemented its "six guarantees" even after 100 days in power. He further accused the Telangana government of "imposing Rahul Gandhi tax" and taking money from real-estate firms, and sending it to the "high command."
"In Telangana, assembly elections took place 3 months ago, In that poll, the Congress party mentioned that the implementation of 6 guarantees will commence in 100 days once they come to power. There is no execution of guarantees; it's been 100 days," Reddy said.
The Congress said that "Every woman will be given a Rs 2,500 allowance per month, they did not even provide that guarantee. Not just that, Congress has never fulfilled any of the promises made by the party in the last 75 years. There is no change in the state of Telangana after the formation of the Congress government," said Reddy.
Reddy further alleged, "The way previous BRS government looted Telangana, the same way current Congress government is imposing Rahul Gandhi tax and taking money from real-estate firms, manufacturing units and sending it to the high command."
Earlier, addressing a rally in Nagarkurnool on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lashed out at Congress and Bharat Rasthra Samithi and said that both these parties have crushed the dreams and aspirations of Telangana.
The PM said Telangana people have decided to bring back Modi for a third time at the Centre.
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases from April 19, with counting to be held on June 4. Elections to the state legislatures of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will also be held in the same period. (ANI)
