Durg (Chhattisgarh)[India], Apr 16 (ANI): Union minister Uma Bharti and BJP's star campaigner on Tuesday said there would be no impact of the entry of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
"Kuchh nahi. Jiska pati chori ke aarop mein ho, usko to log kis nazar se.....chor ki patni ko kis nazar se dekha jata hai Hindustan ussi nazar se dekhega unko," (There will be no impact. People will see her in the same light as they do for the wife of a thief),  Bharti said when asked about her opinion on the Congress leader entering politics.
Bharati's comments allegedly referred to Priyanka Gandhi's husband, businessman Robert Vadra who is facing allegations of money laundering.
About Rahul Gandhi's decision to contest from Wayand in Kerala, the union minister said: “He is the president of the Congress Party, he can contest from anywhere but he made this decision after seeing the report of Amethi and it was only the basis of his decision. This means he already accepted his defeat in Amethi.”
On March 31, the Congress had announced that Rahul will be contesting from Wayanad seat in Kerala along with his traditional bastion Amethi in Uttar Pradesh to further strengthen the unity of north and south. He filed his nomination papers for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat on April 4. (ANI)
