Patna (Bihar) [India], May 15 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying, no development work was done in Bihar and a person who raised voice for the poor is in jail.
"You have been a cabinet minister in the Centre from 1998 to 2004, but how much amount was given for Bihar's development works during your regime?" Yadav wrote in a letter addressed to 'Nitish Chacha Ji.'
"If you want to have a comparative discussion and open debate on financial help given to Bihar during the UPA and NDA tenure, then I am ready for the challenge, but you are urged to not lie to the people," he added in a letter he shared on Facebook.
On Nitish Kumar's claims that the development was done in the past 15 years, Yadav wrote, "The bulb and the road you are talking about is that of 2004-2014 UPA-1 and UPA-2 regime in which our national president Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was then the railway minister and Raghuvansh Babu, the then rural development minister and the then energy minister, rose above party politics to sanctioned the funds for Bihar."
"The tragedy is that the person who raised his voice for the poor sections of the society, i.e., my father Lalu Prasad Yadav is in jail and you are using the services of Brajesh Thakur, an accused in the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home rape case, in organizing your public rallies," he wrote.
"The anguish in the public is clear by the attack in Buxar district," he added.
Yadav also expressed confidence in the public and predicted that the NDA regime will come to an end on May 23 and the RJD will put up a decent performance in Bihar. "The public court is the largest in democracy. We accept their every decision. We will fight, win and will proceed. The lantern will burn and darkness will be scared," he wrote.
Polling for the Lok Sabha elections in six phases is over in Bihar with one phase remaining to go to polls on May 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23. (ANI)
