NIA team reaches Bhopal for investigation on train explosion
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Mar. 8 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on Wednesday reached Bhopal for investigating the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train explosion that took place yesterday. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhupendra Singh has called the explosion to be the first ever attack of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in India, in which at least 12 people were injured. He has also announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 to the severely injured and injured people respectively. Singh said that the initial investigation in the case indicates that it was a terror attack and IED was used for it. Assuring concrete proof that the terrorists responsible for the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train blast were affiliated with the ISIS, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that after placing the pipe bomb in the train, the terrorists had then proceeded to send the pictures to Syria. Speaking to ANI, Chouhan further informed that the terrorists, who hailed from Kanpur and Kannauj had made plans to rush back to Lucknow once their nefarious plans to set off the bomb had come through. "The explosives recovered from them had inscriptions on it saying 'ISIS- we are in India'. The terrorists even uploaded the picture of the pipe bomb they had placed in the train and the then sent it to Syria. So it's proof that they were related to ISIS," he added. The guard of Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train informed the passengers at 9.50 a.m. about the explosion that took place ahead of guard coach, next to front of sleeper class, while the train was on run in block section between the Jabdi and Kalapipal stations.
