NIA frames charges against Abu Jundal for conspiring terror attacks in India

New Delhi [India], Jan. 13 (ANI): A special National Investigation Agency court (NIA) here on Friday levelled charges against Zabiuddin Ansari aka Abu Jundal in a matter related to conspiring terror attacks in various parts of India.

NIA frames charges against Abu Jundal for conspiring terror attacks in India
New Delhi [India], Jan. 13 (ANI): A special National Investigation Agency court (NIA) here on Friday levelled charges against Zabiuddin Ansari aka Abu Jundal in a matter related to conspiring terror attacks in various parts of India. The charges against Jundal, who is also the convict in the Aurangabad arms haul case, have been framed under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 153 A and other sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The trial on the same will begin from January 31. A case was registered on June 8, 2012 under section 18 of UA (P) Act against Jundal and his associates, who happened to be the members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) After the Mumbai terror attack of 26/11, Jundal with senior functionaries of LeT hatched the conspiracy in Pakistan in 2010 to recruit youngsters from India for terrorist activities and to promote enmity between different groups in the name of religion. In August last year, the designated Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court sentenced life imprisonment to Jundal in the Aurangabad arms haul case. (ANI)
