NGT bans camping activities within 100 m of Ganga in Uttarakhand

New Delhi [India], Mar. 2 (ANI): The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday lifted the ban on camping activities on the beaches of river Ganga in Uttarakhand conditionally imposed earlier, however, prohibiting them within 100 m of the holy river.

NGT bans camping activities within 100 m of Ganga in Uttarakhand
New Delhi [India], Mar. 2 (ANI): The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday lifted the ban on camping activities on the beaches of river Ganga in Uttarakhand conditionally imposed earlier, however, prohibiting them within 100 m of the holy river. Out of the 33 beach sites recommended by the Uttarakhand Government, the tribunal has, hence, allowed camping on as many as 25 sites. The excluded eight sites fall in the 100m range. The ban was imposed from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. (ANI)
