N.D. Tiwari's joining will add to electoral benefits of BJP: Shaina NC
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan. 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shaina NC has said that the joining of former Congress veteran Narayan Dutt Tiwari in the saffron party would add value not only to the party and the cadre but also to the electoral benefits of the BJP in the days to come. "A lot of senior leaders of Congress party have joined BJP in the presence of our party president Amit Shah and I'm sure this would only add value to not just the party and the cadre but also in the days to come to the electoral benefits of our party," Shaina NC told ANI. She said Tiwari and other leaders in Uttarakhand are very much inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and they want a development plan for the state in the days to come. Tiwari and his son Rohit Shekhar joined the BJP in the presence of party president Amit Shah on Wednesday. The 91-year-old leader served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice (1976-77, 1984-85, 1988-89) and the chief minister of Uttarakhand once (2002-2007). In 1986-1987, he served in former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's cabinet as Minister for External Affairs. This political development comes ahead of the high-stakes Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
