Patna (Bihar) [India], September 1 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Monday hit out at the opposition INDIA bloc over their Voter Adhikar Yatra, calling it a "drama."
Launching attacks on Congress MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Sinha alleged that these leaders consider politics as their "personal fiefdom."
Speaking to ANI here, the Deputy Chief Minister said, " Nautanki karna aa rahe hai. Nautabaaz log hai. (They are coming here to do drama. They are dramebaaz people) ...Those who rob democracy, the prince of jungle raj... both (Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav) were born with a silver spoon and consider politics their personal fiefdom. But this is the land of democracy, the people of Bihar will respond... Those who use insulting language for Biharis have been brought here and honoured; the people will give their answer."
The 16-day-long 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' led by Congress MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi is aimed at raising awareness about voter rights and protesting against alleged "vote theft" and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
Rahul Gandhi, along with senior leaders of INDIA bloc, including RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut, TMC MP Yusuf Pathan and others will conclude the yatra in Bihar's capital city Patna today.
The 16 day yatra, taken out by Rahul Gandhi to highlight the alleged case of 'vote chori' (vote theft) by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the alleged irregularities in the voter list by the Election Commission of India (ECI), will conclude in Patna today.
The campaign began on August 17, with Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav conducting the yatra together from Sasaram. From there, the rally spanned across 25 districts, to Aurangabad, Gayaji, Siwan, and others.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Yusuf Pathan and Lalitesh Pati Tripathi are also set to join the Rahul Gandhi-led Voter Adhikar Yatra on its concluding day in Patna.
Multiple other INDIA bloc leaders have attended the yatra at various points. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin have joined the rally.
Other chief ministers, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, participated in the yatra. (ANI)
