Nashik (Maharashtra) [India], Oct. 9 (ANI): Tensions ran high as scores of angry villagers torched a police vehicle and a public transport after a minor girl was allegedly raped by a teenage boy in Nashik's Trimbakeshwar village.

Nashik (Maharashtra) [India], Oct. 9 (ANI): Tensions ran high as scores of angry villagers torched a police vehicle and a public transport after a minor girl was allegedly raped by a teenage boy in Nashik's Trimbakeshwar village. A 16-year-old boy allegedly raped the five-year-old girl in the village on Saturday. The incident has caused huge uproar and people took to the streets to vent their ire against the district administration. The protesters have been demanding that the accused should be handed over to them so that he could be punished by them. Police officials have asked the protesters to maintain calm and assured justice. Doctors have, meanwhile, said three gynaecologists are monitoring the victim constantly. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said a charge-sheet has been filed against the accused. "The accused has been arrested and an order to file a charge-sheet at the earliest has been given," Fadnavis said. (ANI)
